Scott Edwards hit a blistering double century in the fourth round match while playing for Altona Sports T20 First XI in the Clenzo Group Shield. Edwards, who played 82 T20 matches for the Netherlands, attacked the local bowlers.

23 sixes and 14 fours have been hit in 81 balls. In this match against Williams Landing SC T20, Edwards team batted first and he himself started the innings strongly. The right-handed batsman attacked the Williams bowlers well. He made a storming knock of 229 runs off just 81 balls. He looked in control from the first ball to the last ball. Edwards hit more sixes than fours in his innings. He batted at a strike rate of 282 during which he hit 23 sixes and 14 fours.

An easy win for the Altoona team

Edwards’ double century will not count in the official record as it was scored in a domestic tournament. It is also unlikely to have any significant impact on his or his team’s performance in the T20 World Cup. Nevertheless, he has certainly done well by scoring a double century in a 20-over match. Talking about the match, his Altona team scored 304 runs. Williams’ entire team was bowled out for just 110 runs in 16.5 overs.
