Abhimanyu Easwaran got run out while drinking water, know what is the whole matter
Abhimanyu Easwaran: Abhimanyu Easwaran was strangely run out at the non-striker’s end during the sixth round of Ranji Trophy on Thursday. Easwaran had a chance to score his 28th first-class century, but he was out in an unusual manner. He returned to the pavilion after scoring 81 runs. Abhimanyu admitted that it was completely his mistake. This incident happened on the last ball of the 41st over. Sudip Chatterjee played a full-length ball lightly towards bowler Aditya Kumar at the striker’s end, and Easwaran, at the non-striker’s end, came out of the crease to drink water even though the ball was not yet dead. The ball hit the bowler’s fingers and hit the stumps, due to which Abhimanyu was out.
Even the Services bowler did not realize that Easwaran had gone out of his crease at the non-striker’s end. It was only after the ball hit the stumps that he realized that the batsman was far out of his crease. An appeal was made, and the on-field umpire referred the decision to the third umpire, who ultimately declared him out. After the end of the day’s play, Easwaran admitted that it was completely his fault and that he had no idea what was happening.

Easwaran said, “The innings was going quite well, but the mistake I made was very surprising even for me. Many people may say that the opposition team could have called me back by showing sportsmanship, but it is not so at all. It was completely my mistake. I thought that the bowler had caught the ball, and I moved quickly, but the ball hit the bowler’s hand and hit the wicket.”
In this context, Bengal coach Lakshmi Ratan Shukla was asked whether this was similar to the incident with Ian Bell in the second Test between England and India in 2011, and whether the Services team should have considered recalling Easwaran in a similar manner. The Bengal coach said, “Both the incidents were similar, but you cannot compare them directly. In the second incident, another team was involved, and the circumstances were different.

The opposing team could have considered calling him back, but if they did not do so then there is nothing wrong in it. The mistake was entirely that of the batsman, and everything happened as per the rules.”
