Abhishek Banerjee got X category security after Sonarpur violence, TMC leader accused CM
Kolkata: The security of Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee has been increased after the violent protests in Sonarpur. The state police has decided to give him X category security with immediate effect. According to sources, the new system has also been implemented.
Earlier there was Z plus security
Abhishek had received Z Plus category security during the Mamata Banerjee government. His security was removed after the change of power. Now after security assessment by the state police, X category security has been given. Under this, three security personnel will be deployed with them at all times. This decision is being considered important in political and administrative circles.
TMC released new videos
Meanwhile, TMC has released some new videos related to the attack. The party says that it is clearly visible in the video that some people are throwing stones towards Abhishek Banerjee. TMC alleges that the attackers directly targeted his face. Instead of considering it as a sudden clash, the party is calling it a premeditated conspiracy.
Questions raised on security arrangements
TMC has also raised questions on the security arrangements during the incident. Party leaders say that there were not enough security forces at the spot. If the police had taken timely action, the attack could have been stopped.
Abhishek Banerjee will go to court
After the incident, Abhishek Banerjee himself came in front of the media and gave a statement. He said that he was attacked deliberately. They have video evidence of the entire incident. Abhishek made it clear that he will take this matter to the court.
Suvendu Adhikari held responsible
TMC has held West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari responsible for this entire matter. The party says that they have the video and other evidence. This evidence will be used in the legal battle. The matter is now moving towards the court. It is believed that this issue will become more heated in the politics of Bengal in the coming days.
