Abhishek Sharma’s Father: India won the T20 World Cup 2026 title by defeating New Zealand in the final on Sunday. Abhishek, who struggled with poor form throughout the tournament, looked in excellent form in the final and played a strong inning of 52 runs in 21 balls. Abhishek’s father told that after winning the Under-19 World Cup, the left-handed batsman had decided that one day he would make the senior team win the World Cup on the basis of his excellent performance.
Abhishek’s father Raj Kumar Sharma while talking to the media agency said, ‘Abhishek had come home after winning the Under-19 World Cup and he had told me that I will play the World Cup for the senior team also and will make India win the World Cup. Abhishek had written it down on paper that he would soon play the Senior World Cup and today that day has come.”
Talk about bad form also
Abhishek’s father also talked about his son’s poor form. He said that there comes a period in every player’s career when he struggles for runs. He said that the good thing was that Abhishek was successful in regaining his form in the T20 World Cup itself. Abhishek’s father also praised captain Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir. He said that Surya is an excellent captain and Gambhir is a coach who has played a lot of cricket himself.

Abhishek’s brilliant comeback in the final
Abhishek Sharma’s performance before the final match was quite disappointing. He could score only 89 runs in 7 innings. However, Abhishek’s performance in the title match against New Zealand was excellent and he batted brilliantly and played a strong inning of 52 runs in 21 balls. Abhishek along with Sanju Samson added 98 runs in 7.1 overs for the first wicket. Due to the foundation laid by Abhishek-Sanju, the Indian team was successful in scoring the highest score in the knockout match of the T20 World Cup. Team India scored 255 runs on the scoreboard after losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. In response, the entire New Zealand team was all out after scoring 159 runs in 19 overs.
