Oscars 2025: Academy officially confirmed that Prabhas Kalki 2898 AD is nominated for Best VFX awards for upcoming 97th Academy Awards.
A source revealed that the epic science fiction film, Kalki 2898 AD directed by Nag Ashwin starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Shobana and Disha Patani is reportedly nominated for Best VFX .
The film is set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD, the film follows a select group who are on a mission to save lab subject SUM-80’s unborn child, Kalki was released on 27 June 2024 in standard, IMAX, 3D and 4DX formats to mostly positive reviews. The film has grossed est.₹1,110–1,200 crore globally and has set multiple box office records for an Indian and Telugu film.
