A very shocking incident has come to light from Karnataka, where just a week before retirement, a government officer committed suicide in his own office. This incident has shaken the entire administrative system. The deceased has been identified as Mallikarjuna, who was working as Assistant Director in the Social Welfare Department.
Recorded video before suicide
The deceased were residents of Gundarlahalli village near Pavagada town. Was serving in this department for the last three years. According to the information, before committing suicide, Mallikarjun recorded a video, in which he accused his senior officer of serious mental harassment. According to the police, he had sent this video to some of his colleagues. After this, on Wednesday he took this drastic step in his office in Pavagada. In the video, he took the name of Joint Director Krishnappa and said that he was facing mental pressure and harassment for a long time.
In his last message, Mallikarjun expressed his deep affection for his family. He said that his mother, wife and children always supported him and he wanted to do better for them, but circumstances did not give him the opportunity to do so. He also said that the harassment being faced by him is the main reason behind this step. He also appealed to his family not to take any kind of revenge and said that the culprits will be punished by the law and God himself.
Police started investigation
As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started investigation. Another surprising thing has come to light in the preliminary investigation that Mallikarjuna’s father was also working in the same department and he had also died a few months before retirement. After the death of his father, Mallikarjuna got the job on compassionate grounds. Now many questions have arisen due to his death just before retirement.
The police is investigating this entire matter from every angle. It is noteworthy that earlier a government employee had also committed suicide in Shivamogga, Karnataka, where allegations of pressurizing colleagues were made in the suicide note. Such incidents, which are continuously coming to light, raise serious concerns over the increasing mental pressure and administrative environment at the workplace.
