Acting President of Venezuela said- will not rest till the return of Maduro and his wife
Caracas, December 11. Venezuela’s acting President Delsey Rodriguez has pledged to return to the country Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, detained by the US military. Rodríguez said she would not rest for a minute until Maduro and Flores return to Venezuela. Speaking at an event in Miranda state on Saturday, Rodriguez said there was no uncertainty about Venezuela’s leadership or governance program, Xinhua news agency reported.
“There is no uncertainty here. The Venezuelan people are in charge and there is a government, that of President Nicolas Maduro,” he said. He called for unity to guarantee peace, stability and the future of the country. Rodríguez also said he had sworn in Maduro a year ago at the beginning of his third term. Today, after one year, we are taking oath for their freedom. Rodriguez said national unity would be decisive in the effort to save Maduro. Meanwhile, the acting president confirmed that his government is continuing the seven action plans set by Maduro.
Let us tell you that on January 3, the US Army had carried out military attacks in Caracas and three other cities of Venezuela. During this operation, the US Army had detained Venezuelan President Maduro along with his wife. This action of America was condemned worldwide and many countries also expressed their concerns. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said that Venezuela has started releasing political prisoners. He described it as the result of direct American action.
Trump said that Venezuela has begun the process of releasing its political prisoners on a large scale. The President linked the move directly to the US role and indicated that it would not have been possible without US pressure. “I hope those prisoners remember how lucky they are that America came and did what needed to be done,” he said.
