Age is just a number, they say. When it comes to Dick Van Dyke, that number is 100 today. The comedian and actor, best known for playing Bert in Disney’s Mary Poppinsrecently talked about the milestone age and the secret to staying healthy and peaceful in life. In a recent interview with People magazine, Van Dyke said that he feels “really good” about hitting 100 and does not have any discomfort or pain. The comedian-actor also shared that he is not aware of the secret to his long-lasting life and has no response to people who ask him about the same. “I am rather lazy,” he said before telling people to remove any element of hatred in them.
“I have always thought that anger is one thing that eats up a person’s insides, and hate,” Dick Van Dyke said. The actor added that he could not have a sense of hatred in him all life, although there have been people and things he dislike over the years. “I was never really able to do a white-heat kind of hate,” he shared, possibly alluding to an intense sense of resentment.
