At 59, Lau turned heads by wearing a sheer outfit to an event on Wednesday. According to Next Applewhile many viewers complimented her youthful appearance, some criticized her choice as being inappropriate for her age and too revealing.

Addressing the criticism, Lau remarked: “Right now, my figure is still in good shape, so I try to wear a variety of sexy outfits.”

“In a few years, I won’t be able to pull these off anymore,” she added.

Lau also revealed that Leung has never expressed disapproval of her revealing clothing, as he trusts her sense of style and respects her choices. Beyond fashion, the actress explained, the actor avoids controlling her in other aspects as well, knowing that control could lead to separation. Likewise, Lau said she refrains from interfering with Leung’s preferences.

Speaking previously with TVBLau acknowledged that their familial lifestyle might not be “model-like,” but it works for both of them. After several disagreements and “silent treatments,” the couple gradually found ways to coexist comfortably. They give each other ample personal space, accept each other’s flaws, and avoid demanding changes in habits or personality traits.

As an example, Lau mentioned that she and Leung use separate bathrooms and clean their own, as she prefers cleanliness and order, while Leung can be messier, often leaving socks around and occasionally wearing dirty clothes to bed after work. Over time, however, Leung’s bathroom has become tidier.

“Maybe he learned this from me,” Lau remarked.

She emphasized that she doesn’t force her husband to change his habits, allowing him to enjoy his own space. Lau also noted that the couple maintains financial independence.

Lau began her acting career in 1984 and rose to fame in the 1980s through several successful drama series. Her film roles, including appearances in the “Infernal Affairs” sequels and Wong Kar-wai’s “2046,” have boosted her global recognition.

Leung, 62, began acting in 1982 and is widely regarded as one of Asia’s most notable and internationally recognized actors. He is particularly acclaimed for his collaborations with Wong Kar-wai, featuring in seven films, including “In the Mood for Love,” which earned him the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival.

The couple married in 2008.
