Adani becomes Asia’s richest person, leaves Mukesh Ambani behind, know how much is his net worth
Delhi. Industrialist Gautam Adani Reliance Industries Ltd. The chief has become the richest person in Asia, leaving Mukesh Ambani behind. The change has come as his wealth has grown following a steady rise in the shares of his conglomerate, which spans from ports to the energy sector. According to the latest ranking of Asia’s richest people, Adani’s net worth is estimated at $92.6 billion, while Ambani’s wealth is estimated at $90.8 billion.
In this way Adani has now become the richest person in both India and Asia. Adani operates India’s largest private port network. They are also the country’s largest renewable energy producer and private airport operator and among the world’s leading coal traders. He is currently ranked 19th in the ‘Bloomberg Billionaires Index’. This is a list of the 500 richest people in the world and is updated daily.
The bulk of his wealth comes from his stake in the group’s 10 listed companies. The recent rally in Adani Group shares has added billions of dollars to its market capitalisation, reflecting strong investor interest in sectors linked to India’s economic growth and energy transition. In contrast, there has been comparatively less growth in Mukesh Ambani’s wealth. The mainstay of his wealth is his flagship conglomerate Reliance Industries, which spans sectors such as energy, telecom and retail. “This slow growth has led to changes in the list of billionaires in the region.”
Elon Musk, the chief executive officer of car manufacturing company Tesla, has topped the list of rich people of ‘Bloomberg Billionaires Index’. His net worth is $656 billion, which is more than double the wealth of his nearest rival, Larry Page. Larry Page is the co-founder of Google’s parent company Alphabet and his net worth is $286 billion. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is in third place with a net worth of $269 billion. Adani and Ambani are the only two Indians in the top 50.
Ambani was India’s richest person for more than a decade, but a sharp rise in Adani Group shares took him to the top spot in 2022. However, later after the report of Hindenburg, an American research company, the shares of Adani Group fell and Ambani again came to the top position. Adani overtook Ambani again in mid-2024, while Ambani returned to the top in mid-2025. But this month Adani has again gained the lead.
