Adarsh Gourav shares heartfelt note as film battles slow start
Adarsh Gourav urged fans to support You are my main as the thriller battled a slow box office and sought big screen attention.
The movie opened on February 13 with ₹0.6 crore on the first day, then collected ₹1.45 crore on day two, totaling ₹3.28 crore in five days domestically.
On Tuesday, February 17, the 31-year-old actor took to his Instagram account to talk about how the role of Maruti touched him deeply and why he connected with the character.
Along with a series of snapshots, he wrote, “Tu Yaa Main came at a time for me when I was feeling confused and helpless reading everything that was being developed. But when I walked out of @abzeebandekar’s insane narration at the Colour Yellow office, I knew I had to be Maruti. What was it about him that felt so personal to me? Maybe his desire to break out and find an identity.”
He continued, “It’s important that people show up in bigger numbers and watch smaller commercial films like ours too, because it gives a real chance to other writers and directors to develop films that are clutter-breaking. It encourages producers to back films that are trying to do something unique.”
Furthermore, he concluded his note by writing to stress the cinematic experience, encouraging viewers to watch the film with friends in theatres.
