ADC-S Swarm Drone System: India will launch smart attacks from the sky; Transport aircraft ‘C-17 Globemaster’ and ‘C-130J Super Hercules’ will become ‘drone attack machines’, will attack the enemy from 500 km away.

Indian Air Force ADC-S Swarm Drone System: Today’s modern era is no longer limited to heavy and expensive wars. Now is the time for smart war. To defeat the enemy smartly from your own land. Taking lessons from Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam terrorist attack and the current US-Israel and Iran wars, India has started smartening its army. Under this, the Indian Air Force is developing the ADC-S (Air-Dropped Canisterised Swarm) system, which will bring a big and important change in its combat capability. This will enable transport aircraft like C-17 Globemaster and C-130J Super Hercules to launch precision drone strikes on the enemy from a distance of more than 500 km.

The Air Force is developing modern and cheap strike systems. Under this, the Indian Air Force has taken a very important step to further strengthen its combat capability. The name of this system is Air-Dropped Canisterised Swarm (ADC-S). Through this new technology, now transport aircraft like C-17 Globemaster III, C-130J Super Hercules and C-295 will also be able to attack the enemy from long distances.

According to sources, companies have to apply for this project by 30 April 2026. After this the successful system will be purchased in Buy Indian-IDDM category. After the introduction of ADC-S system, the strength of the Indian Air Force will increase manifold. Now it will be possible to carry out accurate and fast attacks deep inside the enemy even without sending fighter jets. This is a big step towards future network-centric warfare.

What is ADC-S system?

According to the information, in this system transport aircraft will drop special containers (canisters) from height. There will be 6 to 8 smart drones inside these canisters. As soon as the canister is opened, these drones will come out, identify their target and attack. This project is running under Make-II category, in which at least 50% indigenous technology is required. This will provide a big opportunity to Indian defense companies and startups.

Precise attack from 500 km away

IAF plans to attack these drones at a distance of more than 500 kilometers, fly at a speed of 350-400 km/hour, each drone can carry at least 30 kg of weapons and can hit the target accurately within 5 meters (very high precision). The special thing is that these drones can hit the target even when GPS is turned off.

Why is this a game-changer?

Till now, expensive cruise missiles or fighter jets were used for such attacks. However, with this new technology, transport aircraft will also become strike platforms. Pilots and aircraft will remain safe away from enemy air defense and by attacking multiple drones simultaneously, they will confuse the enemy air defense.

heavy on enemy air defense

When dozens of drones attack simultaneously from different directions, it will become extremely difficult for the enemy air defense system to stop them all. This is called swarm attack, which is considered very effective in today’s war.
