Baharampur. Amidst the West Bengal Assembly Elections, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has approached the Election Commission on Saturday, making serious allegations against the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has claimed that he was attacked by Mamata Banerjee’s TMC workers while campaigning for the Berhampore Assembly seat in Murshidabad.

Adhir demanded action against the culprits
Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said that earlier too he had expressed concern about the security arrangements with the local administration, but despite this he was attacked. He complained about this incident of attack to the Election Commission and demanded action against the culprits. Adhir says that such incidents in elections are a serious threat to democracy.

Also, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury accused the TMC government of creating obstacles in the development works. He said that many railway related projects are pending in his area because the ruling party does not want him to get credit for it. Adhir alleged that the West Bengal government is stopping development works for political gains.

Know that Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary has been MP 5 times. He is contesting the assembly elections after almost 30 years. Congress has made him its candidate from Baharampur seat. Here he is competing against the candidates of BJP and TMC. Elections in West Bengal will be held in two phases with voting on April 23 and 29, while the result will be declared on May 4.
