The legal noose has tightened further on Professor PV Kulkarni, the main mastermind and accused in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) question paper leak case. Taking a tough stand, the local city administration in Beed district of Maharashtra has completely razed a huge under-construction four-storey building belonging to Professor PV Kulkarni by running administrative bulldozers on the illegal parts. This major action taken amid the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation in the paper leak case has created a stir among the education mafias and paper leaking gangs. Beed Municipal Council had given ultimatum on violation of rules, illegal construction was demolished in Shahunagar. This entire administrative action has been taken in Shahunagar, a posh area of Beed city. According to official information received from Beed Municipal Council Chief Officer Shailesh Fadse, this four-storey luxurious building being built in Shahunagar area was being constructed completely flouting the local building rules and maps. During the civic body’s investigation, several serious technical irregularities and illegal construction were found inside the building. Taking strong cognizance of this, the city administration had earlier issued a legal notice to the concerned contractor and the building owner, giving strict instructions to remove the unauthorized construction themselves within a certain time limit. As soon as the deadline ended, the administration came into action, the accused himself broke his illegal empire. As soon as the legal deadline given by the administration ended, the municipal team reached the spot with heavy police force and bulldozer machines. Under the strict supervision of City Council officials, a major process to demolish this unauthorized and illegal construction was started from Monday. Chief Officer Shailesh Phadse said that in view of the strict attitude of the administration and the huge fear of legal action, eventually the accused and his contractor themselves voluntarily started removing and demolishing all the illegal parts of that four-storey building. The administration has made it clear that if in future an application is made for permission to construct a building on this land, physical verification of the land will be done at the first opportunity and approval will be given only if the rules are 100% followed.
