Admission in KVS is full, but these children will get special entry, know what is the new rule after the registration is over
News India Live, Digital Desk: The admission process for the academic session 2026-27 in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), one of the most prestigious educational institutions of the country, is in its final stages. Seats have been filled in most of the schools and the deadline for online registration has also ended. But there is a big relief news for those parents who due to some reason could not apply on time. Under the special rules of KVS, some categories of students can still get admission through ‘Special Entry’. For which students are the doors of KVS open? According to the guidelines of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, under ‘Special Provision’, priority is given to those children whose parents are Central Government employees and have recently been transferred. Additionally, special quotas are reserved for children of armed forces personnel (Army, Navy, Air Force), paramilitary forces and children of Indian officers returning from foreign missions. Admission on the seats earmarked for these categories remains open throughout the year (depending on seat availability). Big update on MP and quota system: Let us tell you that some time ago, MP Quota was abolished in Kendriya Vidyalayas, so that the admission process can be made more transparent. However, the entry path is still easy for orphans (PM Cares for Children), children who have lost parents due to Covid-19 and children of central employees. If seats remain vacant in a particular category, the Principal of the concerned school has the right to grant admission under special circumstances. How to get information about vacant seats? After the closure of the registration window, now the organization is preparing to release its first and second selection list. Parents are advised to regularly check the official website or notice board of their nearest Kendriya Vidyalaya. If the seats of reserved categories remain vacant in any school, then the school administration can invite offline applications by issuing advertisement at the local level. Mandatory documents for admission: For special entry or admission on vacant seats, it is mandatory to have the child’s birth certificate, service certificate of parents (if applicable), transfer order, residence certificate and Aadhar card. The KVS administration has clarified that only those applications will be considered which completely satisfy the rules and eligibility criteria of the organization.
