Government company in the new report for financial year 2026 BSNL has left private companies behind in terms of internet quality. The special thing is that BSNL has been crowned No. 1 in the fixed-line internet segment due to its stable upload speed and excellent network performance.

BSNL becomes number 1 in nPerf report

According to the latest report of French company nPerf, BSNL has secured the first position with 89,174 npoints. Whereas Airtel has reached second place with 74,975 points and Jio has reached third place with 73,957 points. In this report, not only speed but the overall internet experience is measured.

What are npoints?

NPoints is a score not just of download speed but of the overall quality of the internet. This includes many factors like browsing, video streaming and network stability. For this reason BSNL has left everyone behind in this category.

BSNL excels in upload speed

According to the report, BSNL’s upload speed was 75.26 Mbps, which is almost double that of Jio (33.46 Mbps) and Airtel (38.71 Mbps). Apart from this, the company’s download speed has also increased by 21% annually, which has now reached 78.5 Mbps.

Also number 1 in latency and streaming

BSNL has proven to be the most stable network in terms of latency required for online gaming and video calling. Users also got a smooth and uninterrupted experience during YouTube streaming and web browsing.

BSNL still behind in fiber speed

However, when it comes to high-speed fiber (FTTH), private companies continue to dominate. Airtel leads with 241.72 Mbps, followed by Jio (225.18 Mbps) and BSNL (198.54 Mbps).

Despite becoming number 1 in performance, BSNL is still lagging behind in market share. Currently Jio is leading with 31.36%, Airtel is at second place at 21.34% and BSNL is at third place with 15.45%.
