Afghanistan defeated West Indies
In the second T20, West Indies won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Afghanistan (Afghanistan vs West Indies T20 2026) got off to a good start. Opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz was dismissed cheaply for just 1 run.
In the middle order, Darwish Abdul Rasooli and Sediqullah Atal put the team in a strong position with brilliant half-centuries. Rasooli scored 68 runs off 39 balls, while Sediqullah Atal scored 53 runs. Azmatullah Omarzai scored an unbeaten 26 and the team managed to post 189 for 4 in the allotted 20 overs.
In reply, the West Indies, chasing the target, never looked in rhythm. Right from the start, the Afghan bowlers gave them a big blow. While the fast bowlers gave the wickets initially, it was the spinners who made the real innings. Mujeeb-ur-Rehman completely baffled the Caribbean batsmen with his perfect line and length and brilliance. Windies were bowled out for 150 runs in 18.5 overs. Brandon King scored 50 and Shimron Hetmyer scored 46 off 17 balls, but they could not lead the team to victory.
