Afghanistan team announced for Champions Trophy 2025, command handed over to Hashmatullah Shahidi
Sports Desk: Afghanistan has announced its team for the Champions Trophy 2025. All the matches of Afghanistan will be played in Pakistan. Afghanistan has announced 15-member players for the Champions Trophy. Hashmatullah Shahidi has been made the captain of the team.
Afghanistan will enter the tournament after impressive performances at the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2023 and the Men's T20 World Cup last year. Afghanistan team was the semi-finalist in T20 World Cup. Mujeeb ur Rahman has not got a place in this team. Whereas Ibrahim Zadran has returned to the team.
Ibrahim Zadran is returning after a year with a knee injury. He will open the batting with Rahmanullah Gurbaz at the top. Sediqullah Atal has also been included in the team. While spinner AM Ghazanfar has been included in the national team for the ICC tournament for the first time.

In this team, all-rounder Mohammad Nabi will handle the spin bowling along with Rashid Khan. Whereas Fazalhaq Farooqui will strengthen the fast bowling.
