Afridi targets India without taking name regarding Champions Trophy 2025

Former Pakistan team captain Shahid Afridi spoke for the first time about ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Without taking names, he targeted India and said that for the first time since the 1970s, cricket is facing such a big challenge. Afridi urged all the teams to put aside differences and come together for the larger interest of the game, as is the case in the Olympics. He has said this because India has made its stand clear that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, whereas Pakistan wants India to play there and Pakistan is not yet ready to host the tournament on the hybrid model.

On Wednesday, Shahid Afridi wrote on his official Now is the time to put differences aside and let sport unite us. If countries divided in history can come together in the Olympic spirit, why can't we do the same for cricket and the Champions Trophy?”

The former great all-rounder further wrote without naming India that India should give up its ego and tour Pakistan for the Champions Trophy next year. He wrote, “As custodians of the game, we are duty-bound to keep our egos in check and focus on the development and spirit of cricket. “I hope to see every team in Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025, experience our warmth and hospitality and take away unforgettable memories beyond the field.”

What is the problem in Champions Trophy?
BCCI had told ICC through email that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan. ICC sent this email to PCB, on which according to Geo News, PCB has asked ICC to tell what is the real reason behind India not coming. At present, Pakistan is adamant that the Indian team should come to Pakistan and the entire Champions Trophy will be played in Pakistan, whereas India wants all its matches to be held in Dubai, because there has been political tension between the two countries for a long time. . Champions Trophy is to be held in February-March.
