New Delhi: In IPL 2026, an exciting match was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore on 22 May. Along with the rain of fours and sixes on the field, tension was also seen between Virat Kohli and Travis Head. During the RCB innings, amidst the aggressive batting of Venkatesh Iyer, Kohli pointed towards Travis Head standing at midwicket and challenged him to bowl.
Kohli was saying jokingly, “Come, bowl off-spin”. Both the players were seen smiling, but the matter became serious later.
Ignored in the post-match handshake
After the end of the match, a video during the handshake went viral rapidly. In this, Virat Kohli moved ahead without shaking hands with Travis Head. He shook hands with Ishan Kishan, but completely ignored the head. This incident sparked huge debate on social media.

Travis Head’s wife Jessica Head reacted to the incident. He said that this incident looks like the 2023 World Cup final. Jessica wrote, “We are fine, but our family and friends are being abused online. Passion in sports is a good thing, but we should not forget that behind the players there are also families and human beings. Today, there needs to be a serious discussion on mental health and online behavior.”
Jessica told that earlier too after the 2023 World Cup Final, World Test Championship Final and Boxing Day Test, her family had to face similar trolling and abuses.

Sunrisers Hyderabad performed brilliantly in the match. Abhishek Sharma scored 56 runs on 22 balls, Ishan Kishan scored 79 runs and Heinrich Klaasen scored 51 runs. SRH made a huge score of 255/4 in 20 overs. RCB had a bad start.
Virat Kohli was out after scoring only 15 runs. Despite Rajat Patidar (56 runs) and Venkatesh Iyer (44 runs), the team fell far short of the target. Ultimately Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated RCB by 55 runs.
