It is being told that earlier the oil companies had also increased the delivery time of domestic gas cylinders to 25 days. This was done so that the supply of gas remains normal and people do not refill the cylinder more than necessary. Now many businesses may be affected due to stoppage of supply of commercial cylinders.
What message did the gas agencies get?
According to gas agency operators, instructions have been issued by the oil companies that the supply of commercial cylinders should be stopped for the time being. Area Manager of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) Sandeep Chawla said that there is no immediate shortage of gas, but this decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in view of the war-like situation related to Iran.
He says that if the war situation continues further, there may be problems regarding the availability of LPG in future. For this reason, giving priority to domestic consumers, it has been decided to temporarily stop the supply of commercial cylinders.
Commercial cylinder supply stopped, where will it be affected?
The stoppage of supply of commercial cylinders could have the biggest impact on the hotel and restaurant business. There are about two and a half thousand restaurants, small and big hotels and about one thousand street shops in the capital Bhopal, where commercial gas cylinders are used. According to the information, more than 10 thousand commercial cylinders are supplied daily in Bhopal. In such a situation, there is a possibility of the stoppage of its supply having a direct impact on the operations of these establishments.
How much did the prices of commercial cylinders increase?
Meanwhile, recently the prices of commercial LPG cylinders have also been increased. Earlier its price was around Rs 1773, which has been increased to Rs 1888. In such a situation, restaurant operators are raising questions that when the prices have been increased then why is its supply being stopped.
The ban on supply of commercial cylinders may also impact upcoming wedding ceremonies. After Holi, the season of marriage ceremonies has started and only a few auspicious moments are left before the start of Kharmas. There are about 150 marriage gardens in the capital Bhopal, where wedding ceremonies have already been booked. It is being told that in the coming time, about one thousand marriage ceremonies are to be held in the city. In such a situation, these events may also face problems due to stoppage of supply of commercial gas cylinders. Now it remains to be seen what further steps the state government takes regarding this situation.
