After Obama Talks Of Aliens; Trump Orders Declassification Of All Files On Them

Washington, DC: Days after his predecessor Barack Obama spoke on aliens, US president Donald Trump, on Thursday, said that he is ordering federal agencies to identify and release government files related to them and UFOs.

He also accused Obama of making a “big mistake” and leaking “classified” information in a recent interview that went viral.

“Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the secretary of war, and other relevant departments and agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.

The US president, while speaking to reporters, accused Obama, saying that the latter “gave classified information, he is not supposed to be doing that.” While Trump did not specify what information the Democrat leaked, he claimed “he made a big mistake” over remarks made by Obama during a podcast, as reported by WION.

“I don’t know if they are real or not,” Trump said, when asked about his views on aliens.

During a podcast interview released on February 14, Obama was asked by YouTuber Brian Tyler Cowen: “Are aliens real?”

“They’re real,” Obama had replied, adding, “but I haven’t seen them.”

Speaking about the air base in Nevada, known as Area 51, the former president said: “They’re not being kept in Area 51. There’s no underground facility, unless there’s this enormous conspiracy, and they hid it from the president of the United States.”

Obama issued a clarification a day later on social media, saying he was “trying to stick with the spirit of the speed round.”

“Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there’s life out there. But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we’ve been visited by aliens is low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really,” he had said.
