Deadly attack on Motaleb Sikdar
Khulna Divisional Chief and central organizer of National Citizen Party (NCP) Motaleb Sikdar was shot in the head by unknown assailants. Immediately after the incident, he was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he is undergoing treatment under the supervision of doctors.
Panic due to attack, questions on security
This attack has not only created fear among NCP workers, but has also increased the feeling of insecurity among the common people. Open firing in an important area like Khulna has shown that the attackers are easily able to reach even political leaders.
Osman Hadi murder sequence

After Hadi’s assassination, fundamentalist groups had given a 24-hour ultimatum to the interim government and demanded “clear progress” in arresting the accused.
