After ‘Paatal Lok’, why did you choose ‘Rakh’? Prosit Roy gave a special reason

Tezzbuzz Desk – At first glance, Rakh appears to be an interesting missing persons investigation series, but for director Prosit Roy, it was not just a crime thriller. After the success of Paatal Lok, he was not interested in working in the same genre again and was looking for something different. But when Rakh came to him and he heard its story, he realized that it was not just another crime series, but had many layers of emotions and human psychology hidden within it.

Talking about this, Prosit Roy said, “I was not too keen on doing another crime show because I wanted to do something different after Paatal Lok. But when I heard the story of Raakh, I felt that this is not just another crime series. There is a lot more to it. There are many emotions here that need to be explored. The characters are quite layered and even the police officer who investigates is very different from the characters we have seen before.”

Explaining that the series is not just limited to a mystery but also shows the emotional and mental journey of the people involved, Prosit said, “I think Rakh is a story of human psychology in every aspect. It is the story of a son who is struggling with his inner battles and learning to accept his identity. It is also a story of two criminals who have their own thinking and ideology. It is a story of grief and learning to live with it, and also a story of two children who never give up.” Believed and fought. So Ash shows human psychology on many levels.”

Raakh, starring Ali Fazal, Sonali Bendre and Aamir Bashir, is directed and executive produced by Prasit Roy. It has been created, written and co-directed by Anusha Nandkumar and Sandeep Saket. The series, produced in collaboration with Endemol Shine India and BhaDiPa, will release on Prime Video on June 12 in more than 240 countries and territories across the world including India.
