After Tarun’s murder, CM Rekha Gupta met the family, said – ‘I will not spare the culprits and…’
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday met the family of 26-year-old Tarun, who was killed in a tragic incident during Holi in Uttam Nagar. In this meeting held at Delhi Secretariat, the CM expressed deep grief to the family and assured justice.
He said that hooliganism and violence will not be tolerated at all. Strict and swift action will be taken against the criminals, so that the society gets a clear message that crime has no place in Delhi.
What is the whole incident of Uttam Nagar?
On Wednesday, while playing Holi in JJ Colony, a dispute started over a small matter. Tarun’s family claims that colored water from a balloon accidentally fell on the neighbor woman. The woman made it a big issue and despite apologizing, called her relatives. At around 11 pm, 10-12 people armed with sticks reached Tarun’s house.
They attacked the family, locked the doors from outside and beat Tarun brutally. Tarun was seriously injured and died during treatment. Tarun’s father Memraj told that his brother, wife and himself were also injured in the attack.
CM promised full support to the family
During the meeting, CM Rekha Gupta understood the pain of the family. He said that instructions have been given to take strictest legal action against all the culprits involved in this heinous crime. The government will provide all kinds of help to the victim’s family, which includes financial assistance, legal support and security of the family.
CM posted on X and wrote that Delhi government is standing with the family with sensitivity and responsibility. Such inhuman incidents will not be tolerated at any cost.
Police action and arrests
Delhi Police took swift action in the matter. Till Monday, a total of 14 people have been arrested, including seven new names. A minor has also been detained. On Sunday, Delhi Municipal Corporation demolished the illegal portion of an accused’s house with a bulldozer. Heavy police force is deployed in the area and security has been increased in view of the tension.
CM’s strict message
Rekha Gupta clearly said that there is zero tolerance policy on violence and hooliganism in Delhi. Exemplary action will be taken in this case, so that no one dares to commit such acts in future. The family has felt some relief from the support of the CM. Now everyone’s eyes are on justice.
