After the Tirupati stampede, CM Chandrababu took action, three officials including his close ones were booked…

Amravati:- Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu gave a stern warning to the officials and said that even small mistakes affecting the public will not be ignored. Emphasizing on accountability, the CM said that the purification has started. If softness is considered weakness then the whip will be used.

This strict stance has been adopted after the stampede incident in Tirupati. By the time the CM returned to Amaravati from Tirupati, transfer orders of three officers had been issued, which underlines the swift action taken.

One of the officers transferred was Subbarayudu, who served as Naidu's chief security officer during his previous tenure as CM. After the rise of NDA in the state, Subbarayudu was brought in on deputation from Telangana. He held the key post of SP in Tirupati district. Observers within the administration believe this sends a clear message to officials in key roles that negligence will no longer be tolerated.

Zero-tolerance policy for negligence: When the NDA government came to power, officials initially acted cautiously. However, under the YSRCP regime, some officials allegedly acted with impunity to avoid consequences. While cases of malpractice and corruption were registered against some, the CM's alleged leniency later led to complacency among others.

Review of Tirupati incident sparks CM's anger: During the review meeting with Thitide and district administration officials, the CM expressed deep disappointment over leaders shifting blame instead of taking responsibility for the tragedy. This led to more focused and constructive discussion during the review. The message is clear, Chief Minister Naidu expects accountability, efficiency and commitment from every officer in the administration. He reiterated that any mistake, no matter how small, will not be ignored.
