Iran’s attack on Bahrain and Kuwait: Tension between Iran and America has started increasing again and efforts to end the war may backfire. In fact, efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz without Iran’s direct supervision have increased tensions and conflicts in the region. A multinational maritime organization working under the supervision of the US Navy said on Saturday that it will expand a passage in the Strait of Hormuz near Oman to allow the movement of ships to and from – a move that could trigger a new confrontation with Tehran.
Iran says that after the war, it should have sole control over this strait. This claim challenges the decades-long consensus that it has been considered international waters open to all, even though it is located in the territorial waters of Iran and Oman.
