New Delhi:The Indian men's team won the title with a spectacular 54-36 win over Nepal in the final of the first Kho-Kho World Cup here on Sunday.

Captain Prateek Waikar and Ramji Kashyap, who performed well in the tournament, once again performed brilliantly. Earlier, Nepal had given a tough fight to India in the opening match of the competition but the Indian players put pressure on Nepal from the first turn in the final.

Earlier, after defeating Nepal, Brazil, Peru and Bhutan in the group stage, India had defeated Bangladesh in the quarter-finals and South Africa in the semi-finals. Earlier, the Indian women's team had won the title with a spectacular 78-40 victory over Nepal in the final of the first Kho-Kho World Cup here on Sunday.
