Agra: Body of landlord’s daughter found in a canister kept in tenant’s room, accused absconding.

At around 8 pm on Wednesday night, the girl’s body was found in a canister kept in the tenant’s room. A sack of flour and a red quilt were kept on top of the canister. According to the family, the girl went missing while playing outside the house at 2 pm on Tuesday. When the girl did not return till evening, the family started searching for her. On taking information from the tuition teacher, it was found that the girl had not gone for tuition that day.

Police examined CCTV footage of the area. In this, the girl was seen buying chips from a shop outside the street in the afternoon. After this no trace of him was found. The police searched the locality, but by then the accused tenant Sunil had disappeared from the house. On Wednesday night the police broke the lock of the tenant’s room and searched it. The girl’s body was found in the canister. After the incident, anger spread in the area. People took to the streets, blocked roads and pelted stones. DCP City Ali Abbas reached the spot with the force and pacified the people.

Police have registered a case of kidnapping and murder against the accused. 10 teams have been deployed to search for him. The cause of death and other aspects will be known after the postmortem report comes. Police have assured to take the case to fast track court and give strict punishment to the culprit.
