Agriculture commodities today, April 21: Cotton jumps 24.24% YTD while rubber rises 23.01%
Agricultural commodities are showing mixed trends today. Some crops are rising steadily. Others are still under pressure on a yearly basis. The gap between gainers and losers is very clear.
Soybeans are trading at 1172.59 USd per bushel. They gained 0.59% today. Weekly growth is 1.17%. Soybeans are up 13.69% this year and 13.20% yearly.
Wheat is priced at 594.98 USd per bushel. It slipped 0.34% today. But it has gained 17.15% this year and 10.91% yearly.
Cotton and rubber prices rise 24.24% and 23.01% YTD showing strong demand
Cotton is trading at 79.82 USd per pound. It fell 0.27% today. But monthly growth is very strong at 18.86%. Cotton has surged 24.24% this year and 19.22% yearly.
Rubber is priced at 205.30 cents per kg. It jumped 2.04% today. Monthly growth stands at 8.45%. Rubber has gained 14.12% this year and 23.01% yearly.
Canola is at 733.56 CAD per ton. It rose 0.89% today. It has gained 24.14% this year and 8.87% yearly.
Palm oil is trading at 4559 MYR per ton. It gained 1.36% today. It is up 12.57% this year and 14.92% yearly.
Wool is priced at 1825 AUD per 100 kg. It is stable today. It has gained 18.43% this year and 48.13% yearly.
Coffee and cocoa fall 25.23% and 63.80% YoY showing weak demand
Coffee is trading at 281.27 USd per pound. It dropped 2.25% today. Weekly loss is 4.74%. Coffee has fallen 18.71% this year and 25.23% yearly.
Cocoa is priced at 3357.50 USD per ton. It fell 1.10% today. Weekly loss is 8.21%. Cocoa has dropped 44.82% this year and 63.80% yearly.
Sugar is at 13.69 USd per pound. It gained 0.36% today. But it is down 9.13% this year and 24.09% yearly.
Orange juice is priced at 177.88 USd per pound. It rose 0.33% today. Monthly growth is 10.32%. But it is still down 12.93% this year and 35.27% yearly.
Rice and corn stay stable while potatoes crash 86.86% YoY
Rice is trading at 11.03 USD per cwt. It slipped 0.59% today. But it has gained 15.01% this year.
Corn is at 452.85 USd per bushel. It gained 0.19% today. Year to date growth is low at 2.75%. Yearly change is negative at 4.92%.
Potatoes remain the weakest. They are priced at 2.30 EUR per 100 kg. There is no movement today. But they have crashed 64.62% this year and 86.86% yearly.
Tea is showing short term strength. It is at 181.94 INR per kg. It gained 3.47% today. Monthly growth is 15.59%. But yearly growth is just 0.33%.
Overall, agricultural markets are driven by strong gains in cotton, rubber, and canola. At the same time, deep losses in cocoa, coffee, and potatoes highlight continued weakness in key segments.
