What did Ahmed Shahzad say about Rizwan? watch video
Ahmed Shehzad on Mohammad Rizwan: After poor performance in T20 World Cup 2026 Pakistan Recently played a 3-match ODI series with Bangladesh. In this series, Pakistan had to face 2-1 defeat at the hands of Bangladesh. Wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan was also seen playing in this series, but his poor performance has again become a topic of discussion.
Regarding this, former Pakistani cricketer Ahmed Shahzad has scolded Rizwan fiercely. Shahzad raised questions on Rizwan’s technique and his attitude on the field and said that even after such a long time, there is no improvement in his game.
What did Ahmed Shahzad say about Rizwan?
Speaking on his YouTube channel, former Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad said, “Rizwan sir, the balls are just coming into your reach. How much time has passed. We have been saying this for a long time. There is a lack of technique. Your game is based on the leg side. You have been just learning for so many years.”
He said, “You just keep talking. You are getting paid to play on the field, we are here just to talk. The people who are selecting you are not learning anything. Perform on the field, don’t talk. There is a huge distance between the bat and the ball. Why are you not getting in the right line? The ball will not reach you. Play with great heart. Ask yourself, are you getting in the right line with the ball?”
What is Rizwan lacking?
Shahzad also said that there was a serious deficiency in Rizwan’s footwork while batting. According to him, while batting, his feet are not moving in the right direction, due to which he is not able to keep pace with the ball and is getting bowled out many times.
He said, “What improvement have you made? You were not even in the T20 World Cup squad; you got so much rest. What did you do? Your job was to score a century against Bangladesh and lead the team to victory. You could have shown the selectors what a big mistake they have made by keeping you out of the team. You are dancing in the middle, your feet are not going anywhere. You just concentrate on speaking. If this continues, you will keep learning.”
How was Rizwan’s performance?
Mohammad Rizwan’s performance in this three-match ODI series was very poor. While batting, he scored a total of 58 runs in all three matches. His high score was 44 runs, which he made in the second ODI. During the series, Rizwan appeared uncomfortable many times in front of the pace and line-length of Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana. He constantly struggled to play the ball correctly and the experience and stability that the team expected from him could not be achieved.
