Ahmedabad: 2 people caught black marketing IPL final match tickets Gujarati
Ahmedabad, 30 May 2026: Amidst the huge demand for tickets for the final match of IPL 2026 at Narendra Modi Stadium tomorrow on Sunday, Ahmedabad Crime Branch has arrested two black-marketing criminals. Due to the vigilance of the police, the black market of tickets has been exposed even before the match.
Based on specific information received by the Crime Branch team, two persons were stopped in a suspicious condition while patrolling on Sindhu Bhawan Road. During investigation, 4 tickets for IPL final were found from him. The accused were trying to sell these tickets at higher prices. The police had arrested Maan Patel (19, resident of Bodakdev) and Safiq alias Bani Mohammad Ayub Ansari (19, resident of Gomtipur).
Police investigation has revealed that the original price of these tickets was only Rs 3,500, but the accused were planning to sell them at a inflated price of Rs 10,000. However, the police caught both of them before the tickets could be sold. Apart from the tickets, the police have also seized mobile phones used in illegal activities from the accused:
In this regard, a case has been registered under the section of Gujarat Police Act in DCB Police Station and further investigation has been conducted. It is noteworthy that such strict action is being taken continuously by the police to stop black marketing of tickets during big matches in Ahmedabad.
