Cab driver asked for ₹300 extra at airport, got refund after complaining to Rapido, video goes viral

Rapido Cab Viral Video: The journey of a passenger who booked a cab from Ahmedabad airport and headed towards the city became stressful when the driver suddenly asked for ₹ 300 extra in addition to the fare. This matter has now gone viral on social media and a debate has erupted regarding the cab service Rapido.

In the viral video, passengers say that as soon as they left the airport, the driver said that they would have to pay extra money in the name of toll and other charges. When the passenger questioned this, an argument started between the driver and the passenger. Seeing the matter escalating, the passenger contacted Rapido customer care, after which he got the refund, but the video of the entire incident became a topic of discussion on social media.

Rider refused to pay toll charge

In the video, the passenger also tells that he was at the arrival gate of the airport, but at the request of the driver he had to walk to the departure gate. The passenger’s question was that when the ride has been booked through the app, how can the driver ask for extra money for toll or any other reason.

To this the driver replies, “Aap jaano, Rapido jaano”, and asks to speak to customer care. The driver also claims that toll and parking charges are already included in his bill and he does not charge even ₹10 extra. However, the passengers do not seem satisfied with what the driver said and record the entire conversation.

By sharing the video the user advised people to be careful

The total fare for this ride was reported to be ₹469, while the driver had asked for an additional ₹300. Later, after complaining to Rapido, the passenger got a refund of ₹400. Passenger Srikanth shared this video on his Instagram account and advised people to be careful. He also claimed that the driver’s car did not even have a number plate.

However, after the video went viral, people’s opinion is divided on social media. While some people are supporting the passenger, many users were seen standing in favor of the driver. One user wrote, “Don’t take away the livelihood of the poor driver,” while another mentioned a similar incident that happened to him on the night of December 8. Overall, this matter once again raises questions about cab service, transparency of fares and caution of passengers.
