The Air India plane crash that took place on June 12, 2025 in Ahmedabad, the capital of Gujarat, had left the entire country in mourning. On June 12, 2025, an Air India flight from Delhi reached Ahmedabad and took off from here for London. The plane crashed shortly after take off. The plane hit a nearby hostel. After this accident there was chaos in the entire city. Teams from many departments immediately reached the spot for relief and rescue operations. The work of debris removal and investigation continued for several days, in which many people from different departments were involved.

Questions raised on expenditure on tea and water
After the accident, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation had made arrangements for tea, water, biscuits, milk and breakfast for the teams engaged in relief work. This arrangement was made so that the employees working continuously could get some relief. Working in high heat and stressful environment was not easy and the comfort of the employees was taken care of. Many employees remained at the spot from morning till late night and due to the accident, security around was tight and the employees could not go out to drink tea or water. All the arrangements were made on site itself.
Now the total bill for all these arrangements is said to be around Rs 16.7 lakh. This bill has been sent to the Municipal Corporation by the agency which had supplied tea and snacks. Officials said that the bill has been examined. On the questions being raised on the bill, Food Department officials said that the bill is absolutely correct and it has been confirmed. The bill has been given according to the items that were delivered.
There will be discussion in Municipal Corporation
Now there will be a meeting of the Standing Committee of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to approve this bill. Councilors will discuss and examine this bill in the meeting. After investigation it will be decided whether this bill has to be paid or not. If the committee approves, payment will be made to the agency. If any questions arise, re-investigation can also be done.
