AI enters Apple Music, playlist will be created on typing text

Now iPhone users do not have to do long searches or hard work to create a playlist. Apple has added a new AI feature to Apple Music with the first developer beta of iOS 26.4 called **Playlist Playground**. The tool uses Apple Intelligence to generate a list of songs based on the user’s mood, theme, or genre. Currently this feature is in developer testing, but it is expected to come in public beta soon.

How will Playlist Playground work?

Playlist Playground is part of Apple’s Apple Intelligence platform. To use this feature, users can go to Apple Music’s library and select the “New Playlist” option. Next, users have to write in a few words about their mood or theme, like ‘relaxing Sunday morning’, ‘romantic Hindi songs’ or ‘workout beats’. The AI ​​will instantly understand the given text and provide a list of about 25 songs. If a user doesn’t want to write their own wish, Apple will also provide the option to provide some ready-made prompts.

Changes are possible even after creating the playlist. Users can further customize songs using follow-up prompts, have the option to remove or add tracks, and change the order of songs. Not only this, the name of the playlist can also be determined by AI.

A small notice along with the feature

There is a notice accompanying this feature that mentions that **Playlist Playground** may sometimes produce unexpected results. This means that the songs suggested by AI may not be accurate every time. However, Apple has given complete freedom to users to manually edit their playlist, so that they can customize it as per their liking before saving it.

New visual changes to the Apple Music app

Not only is the AI ​​​​Playlist feature present in iOS 26.4 beta, but several small changes have also been made to the interface of Apple Music. Dynamic backgrounds can now appear based on song artwork, making the app experience more engaging.

Additionally, a new concert discovery option may be added, which will give users information about live music events happening around them. This allows Apple Music to act as not just a streaming app, but a live music guide.

When will it be available to common users?

At present this update is available only for developers. Users who have installed the iOS 26.4 developer beta will not see this feature immediately as the required AI models may be downloading in the background.

However, the public beta is expected to be released soon, and the stable version is likely to be available to all users by the end of the year.
