AI will change India’s future, government introduced new roadmap of responsible technology

Speaking at the inaugural session, he said, ‘As we move forward and set the agenda beyond this Impact Summit, the outcomes of these working groups spanning seven cross-cutting themes will serve as guiding lights for our journey ahead. They will shape how we collaborate, innovate, and build responsible AI ecosystems in the days to come.” This statement makes it clear that India will not be limited to just developing technology, but will create an AI ecosystem with responsibility and transparency.

AI action plan prepared in seven cycles

The agenda in this summit was “People, Planet and Progress” Divided into seven thematic working groups (cycles) based on the principles of. These groups have deliberated for several months and prepared concrete suggestions and action plans.

These seven cycles include important topics like human resource development, social empowerment, safe and reliable AI, resilience, innovation and efficiency, science, democratization of AI resources, and economic growth and social well-being. These groups included experts from government, academia, industry, civil society and international partners, who developed a policy framework through evidence-based dialogue.

There is also a matter of balance with risk.

Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, said, “We approach this moment with cautious optimism embracing AI’s potential while remaining mindful of risks, standards, governance, and, most importantly, ensuring that all global voices are empowered in shaping the AI ​​discourse.” It is clear from this statement that along with adopting the benefits of AI, the government is also paying serious attention to its risks, standards and governance.

Now moving from vision to implementation

The inaugural session was followed by a detailed closed-door discussion with stakeholders, in which the recommendations of the Working Groups were thoroughly considered. These suggestions will be formally presented in the coming days. This move by India will not only give direction to global AI policy, but can also open new doors of employment, education and digital opportunities for the poor and middle class of the country.
