AI will write complex code and fix bugs on its own, Elon Musk presented the vision of setting up an AI factory on the moon
New Delhi: Once again a big vision has emerged in the tech world. Elon Musk has revealed the plan to set up an AI satellite factory on the Moon in an internal meeting of his AI company xAI. Earlier, Jensen Huang had said that if anyone has the ability to create the world’s fastest AI infrastructure, it is Musk.
Now Musk has taken his vision further and indicated that by the end of this year the need for engineers for coding may end. They claim that the AI model will be able to write complex code and fix bugs on its own.
Blueprint of AI factory on the moon
According to Elon Musk, humanity is currently able to use only about 1 percent of the total energy available on Earth. He said that even if just one millionth of the sun’s energy is used, it will be millions of times more than the current human energy consumption.
To make effective use of this energy, humans will have to expand into space beyond the boundaries of the Earth. With this thinking, Musk is working on a plan to establish an AI satellite manufacturing factory on the moon.
Preparation for mega data center in space
Musk said that with the help of his space company SpaceX, data centers with a capacity of 100 to 200 gigawatts will be established in space. In the initial phase the focus will be on ‘Earth Orbital Data Centre’.
However, if more than 1 terawatt capacity is required, then going to the moon will be mandatory. In this direction, a plan is being made to establish an AI satellite factory.
What is ‘Microhard’ project?
Along with the preparation of an AI factory on the moon, Musk also mentioned the ‘Microhard’ project. This name has been kept as a satire on Microsoft. Under this project, there is a plan to design complex machines like rocket engines with the help of AI.
Musk believes that AI-based designing will significantly reduce the possibility of human errors and projects can be completed with more accuracy.
xAI divided into four parts
Elon Musk has divided his company xAI into four major parts. The first team is ‘Grok’, which will work on chatbots and voice assistants. The second team will develop coding tools. The third ‘Imagine’ team will create a video generation tool. The fourth team is ‘Microhard’, which will focus on AI based advanced hardware and machine design.
End of need for humans for coding?
In an internal meeting, Musk claimed that by the end of this year the need for humans to code could end. Their AI model ‘Grok Code’ will be ready in two to three months.
This model will be able to write code automatically like an experienced engineer and will be able to fix the bugs present in the software itself. Musk believes that this AI system will be able to perform the most complex coding tasks without human intervention.
