AIFF confirms the eight men’s and women’s teams for the 2025 National Games

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has announced on Friday the eight teams from the men’s and women’s category that will be taking part in the 2025 National Games in Uttarakhand.

“We’re pleased to confirm that the following state teams have been nominated for the 38th National Games, Uttarakhand 2025 in the Men’s and Women’s Football category,” AIFF said in a statement.

The nominations are based on the teams’ “performances in the 2023-24 season of Senior National Football Championships,” the statement continued.

The National Games are tentatively scheduled to be held in February 2025, with the start date for the Women’s category on 3rd February, and 4th February for the Men’s competition.

The official draw will be held shortly.

Teams set to feature in the National Games 2025:

Men’s Football:

Uttarakhand (Host team), Services, Goa, Manipur, Mizoram, Kerala, Delhi, and Assam.

Women’s Football:

Uttarakhand (Host team), Manipur, Haryana, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Delhi, and Sikkim.

The 37th National Games was held in 2023 at Goa, with the Services emerging as the winners, defeating Manipur in the finals of the Men’s category.

In the Women’s section, Odisha reigned supreme, winning Manipur in penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

The 38th National Games is set to take place in Uttarakhand from 28th January till 14th February 2025, featuring multiple sporting disciplines.
