Aima Baig fires back at Sara Raza Khan’s autotune remarks amid industry debate
Pakistani singer Aima Baig recently addressed comments made by fellow artist Sara Raza Khan, who suggested Baig’s success relied on autotune.
In an interview with a local channel, Khan discussed her career and voiced opinions on the talent of several singers in Pakistan. “Without autotune, Aima Baig wouldn’t qualify as a singer,” Khan remarked, adding that other artists might also be in the same category.
Khan went on to praise Mehwish Hayat for her acting skills but expressed doubts about her singing abilities. “If I were casting for acting or dance, I’d consider Mehwish for her performance skills, not her singing,” she explained.
In response, Aima Baig took to Instagram, sharing posts from fans showcasing her unfiltered vocals. She humorously responded, saying, “We embrace the talent Allah has given us. But can someone tell me who this lady even is?” Baig added she was focused on enjoying her vacation despite the controversy.
Momina Mustehsan, another singer, stepped in to defend Baig, praising her as one of the industry’s top talents and noting that both she and Khan bring unique vocal skills, with neither truly dependent on autotune.
Autotune, a digital tool often debated globally for its impact on the music industry, remains a hot topic for musicians and fans alike.
