Air raid siren sounded in Bahrain, people asked to go to safe place amid tension between Iran and America

People were surprised by the sudden sound of air raid siren in Bahrain. The government has advised all citizens and expatriates living there to immediately move to the nearest safe places. This step has been taken due to increasing tension and attacks between Iran and America.

The Ministry of Interior of Bahrain started these sirens across the country on 12 July 2026. The government gave information on social media platform X and asked people to be alert. Earlier, similar alerts were issued on July 8, 9 and 10.

The whole matter came to a head when Iran targeted Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait and Qatar in response to the US attacks on Iran. The US military said that it has launched the third round of attacks against Iran. America says that its purpose is to reduce Iran’s power with which it attacks sea vessels and civilian ships.

Bahrain Defense Force confirmed that its air defense system successfully intercepted the air attacks from Iran and destroyed them in the air. Even before this, attacks were carried out through missiles and drones.

Amid the regional crisis, a container ship from Cyprus also came under attack by Iran. The attack caused extensive damage to the ship’s engine room and left one crew member missing. Iran has announced to close the Strait of Hormuz again after firing warning shots at a ship.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met the Foreign Minister of Oman to discuss ways for the safe passage of ships. According to reports, at least 17 people were killed and 115 injured in the attacks in Iran between July 10 and 11.
