Air taxi service may start soon in India, model presented in AI summit
Many cutting-edge technologies attracted people’s attention at the AI Summit organized at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. In this event, controversies came to light regarding some projects. At the same time, many innovations also increased enthusiasm about future possibilities. One of these is the AI based air taxi model, which has been developed in India and which is considered to bring a big change in the field of urban transportation.
Who invented air taxi?
This air taxi has been prepared by ePlane Company in collaboration with IIT Madras. The company claims that it is completely based on indigenous technology and it has been developed specifically with the aim of reducing the problem of traffic jams in metros. Its most special thing is that it will not require a conventional runway for takeoff and landing, due to which it can be easily operated within cities.
According to the company, this air taxi can cover a distance of about 36 kilometers in just 8 minutes. For example, it may take about two hours to reach UB City from Kempegowda International Airport by road, whereas the same distance can be covered in a few minutes by air taxi. However, the fare for its service may be slightly higher than traditional cabs. According to estimates, while the cost of traveling by road is around Rs 1000, the same journey can be completed by air taxi for around Rs 1700.
This air taxi has been developed on e-VTOL (Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing) technology, which means that it can take off straight up and land down in the same way. It will be completely powered by batteries, which will reduce fuel dependence and keep operating costs under control. The company says that once charged it can fly many times.
Another important feature is its low noise level. It makes much less noise than a normal helicopter, which will make its use more convenient in urban areas.
What did company founder Vikalp Mittal say?
According to the company’s founder Vikalp Mittal, this air taxi has been designed in India and many of its important parts have been developed in the country itself. Its design has also been approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. The company is now moving towards its production model and testing.
Experts believe that if this project is successful, then in the future, fast, safe and modern air transport can be started in Indian cities.
