60 percent seats should be available

Issuing instructions, the Civil Aviation Ministry said that airline operators will have to ensure that about 60 percent of the seats in any flight are available for selection without any extra charge. In fact, many airlines demand extra charge for choosing a preferred seat at the time of ticket booking. Keeping this in view, the government has taken this big decision to control it.

The ministry made many major changes

The Civil Aviation Ministry has made many changes apart from the extra charge on seat selection. Airlines were asked to make arrangements for passengers traveling on the same PNR to sit together, that is, their seats should be allotted nearby. In such a situation, if members of the same family are travelling, they will be able to sit together. Earlier, to get a preferred seat one had to pay extra money.
