Airtel-Jio's 5G speed reduced, many revelations made in the report

Obnews Digital Desk. India is one of those countries where 5G network seems to be expanding rapidly. From faster internet speed to better network, the demand for 5G network is continuously increasing. In such a situation, due to Jio and Airtel, the expansion of 5G network in India has started happening even more rapidly, but a big revelation has been made in a new report. It has been told that 5G networks were launched in India 2 years ago and now its average speed is falling rapidly.

More coverage is available in low speed bands

Only 16 percent of 5G users in India use the 700MHz frequency band, which comes with a larger coverage range, but this speed has been slowed down. Whereas 84% users use 3.5GHz band, which has high speed but very less coverage area.

With the increase in data demand, it has become increasingly difficult for service providers to manage spectrum resources. Airtel's 5G download speed is 6.6 percent faster than Jio's. Where users get speeds of around 240Mbps on Airtel 5G, which is an average download speed of 224.8Mbps in Jio.

When is the data from?

Airtel users are also getting better 5G upload speeds. According to the report, Airtel, Jio, Vodafone Idea and BSNL have a data limit of 90 days. This data is from June 1, 2024 to August 29, 2024. VI and BSNL have also not launched their 5G service yet. For this reason only Jio and Airtel have been included in the report.

Airtel is shifting its mid-band spectrum to manage its growing traffic. The company is also considering using 5G standalone technology to reduce dependence on 4G. Jio is also expanding its SA 5G network. Let us tell you that in July this year, all three service providers Jio, Airtel and VI have increased the prices of their plans. At the same time, the problem of call drop is also being seen with Jio's 5G service. After 5G upgrade, many users are facing network related problems.
