Airtel changed the plan, know what changed – Obnews
Bharti Airtel has introduced prepaid plans for voice and SMS only in line with the instructions of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Importantly, Airtel has not launched a new plan, but has complied with TRAI requirements by making changes to the existing plan. Let us know about the plans and offers available in this category for Airtel customers:
Airtel prepaid plan of Rs 509
This plan now includes unlimited voice calls and 900 SMS, with a validity of 84 days. Additionally, additional Airtel Rewards also include free content on Airtel Xstream app, Apollo 24/7 Circle subscription and free Hello Tunes. According to Airtel, the effective price of this voice and SMS-only plan is around Rs 167 per month. Earlier this plan also included 6GB data, which has now been removed.
Long-term or annual plan
An annual plan of Rs 1,999 is available for Airtel users, which offers unlimited voice calls and 3,600 SMS, and is valid for 365 days. Additional Airtel Rewards include free content on Airtel Xstream app, Apollo 24/7 Circle subscription and free Hello Tunes. Earlier this plan also included 24GB data, which has now been removed.
Airtel has removed the bundled data benefit from these existing plans, while keeping their prices the same in the market. This change has been made keeping in mind Airtel's average revenue (ARPU) target of Rs 300. Apart from this, Airtel has also started work on satellite network, so that users can get faster internet service in future. At present the company is waiting for the green signal from the spectrum, after which it will be implemented.
