The performance of Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea and BSNL has been revealed in this report. In the beginning of the year 2026, the competition between companies has become more intense.

Tremendous growth of Airtel, millions of new users added

According to the report, Bharti Airtel has performed brilliantly in January 2026 and added about 44 lakh new mobile users. After this increase, the company’s total wireless user base has increased from 463.3 million to 467.7 million by December 2025. This is a clear indication that Airtel is rapidly attracting customers on the basis of its better network and service.

Jio still number 1, strong hold intact

However, Reliance Jio still remains the largest telecom operator in the country. The company added 2.4 million new users in January, taking its total subscriber base to 491.4 million. Jio’s affordable plans and strong network coverage have made it the first choice of users. This is the reason why despite the rise of Airtel, Jio’s dominance continues.

Difficulties increased for Vodafone Idea

At the same time, the situation is not looking easy for Vodafone Idea. The company has lost about 4.11 lakh users in January 2026, due to which its total user base has come down to 199 million. The continuous decline indicates that it is becoming challenging for the company to maintain its strong hold in the market.

Record increase in broadband users

India is progressing rapidly in the broadband segment. The number of broadband users in the country is expected to reach 1.05 billion by the end of January 2026.

• In this segment, Reliance Jio is at first place with 517.5 million users.
• Bharti Airtel is at second place with 359.2 million users.
• Vodafone Idea with 128.9 million and BSNL with 29.6 million users are at third and fourth position respectively.

Jio’s dominance in market share

If we talk about market share, Reliance Jio has more than 49% broadband users, while Bharti Airtel has about 34% share. These figures clearly show that Jio still remains the strongest player in the telecom market.
