Airtel quietly increased the price, now 84 day plan will be expensive

Airtel Price Hike: A news has come out from the telecom sector which can especially affect the pockets of middle class users. Airtel has increased the price of one of its popular prepaid plans without any fanfare. The company’s 1.5GB per day data plan with validity of 84 days will now be available for ₹899 instead of ₹859. Surprisingly, no official announcement was made about this change, due to which many users came to know about it later.

What was there before, what has changed now?

Till some time ago, Airtel used to offer two main plans in the range of ₹700 to ₹800, ₹799 and ₹859. In these plans, users got 1.5GB or 2GB daily data and validity of 77 to 84 days. But now the ₹ 859 plan has become costlier to ₹ 899, due to which the options of users in this segment have become a bit limited.

What will you get in the ₹899 plan?

This new ₹899 “Truly Unlimited” In the plan, users are being given unlimited calling facility in local, STD and roaming. Apart from this, 100 SMS and 1.5GB high-speed data is also available daily. After the data limit is reached, the internet speed reduces to 64 Kbps, due to which only basic tasks can be done.

Additional benefits with Airtel Rewards

Some extra benefits are also included in this plan. Users get access to Adobe Express Premium for 12 months, which makes designing and editing easier. Also, the facility of Airtel Spam Alerts is available, which helps in protecting from spam calls and messages. Apart from this, the option of free Hellotunes is also given, in which the tune can be changed once every 30 days. However, the RewardsMini subscription previously available in the ₹859 plan no longer appears to be included in this new plan. The company has not yet shared any official information regarding this change.

Small change, but big sign

This price increase may seem small, but there may be a big signal hidden behind it. Experts believe that Airtel is gradually reducing the discounts on its popular 1.5GB plans, so that users can shift towards 5G services and the company’s average revenue increases.

Will the plans become more expensive in future?

At present, the way this change has been made, it seems that all prepaid plans will not become expensive at once. Companies usually don’t make small changes when they are preparing for a big tariff hike.

Prices have increased before also

This is not the first time that Airtel has increased the prices. Earlier, the company had increased the price of its international roaming pack from ₹ 4,000 to ₹ 4,999.
