Airtel's big step for Jammu and Kashmir, now service will be available in these areas also

Obnews Tech Desk: Airtel has started its mobile network services in Kupwara, Baramulla and Bandipora districts of Jammu and Kashmir. With this move, Airtel becomes the first private telecom company to offer mobile services in these areas. The company has installed 15 mobile towers in these districts, which will improve network connectivity in these remote areas.

Local users and soldiers will get benefit

This initiative of Airtel will provide great relief to local mobile users as well as Indian Army soldiers. Soldiers deployed in border areas will now be able to have easier and better communication through Airtel's network. According to the report, Airtel has established this connectivity in collaboration with the Indian Army near the Line of Control in North Kashmir.

Expansion in other areas also

Recently Airtel has also launched its services in Galwan River and Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO), which is considered to be the northernmost military post of India. Additionally, under the company's Vibrant Village Programme, villages in Kupwara, Baramulla and Bandipora districts such as Keran, Machhal, Tangdhar, Gurez and areas of Uri Valley are now connected to other parts of the country.

What is Vibrant Village Programme?

Airtel's Vibrant Village Program is a unique initiative to connect border villages with the rest of the country. Under this programme, Kutchhal, Balbir, Razdan Pass, Taya Top and other villages have been connected to the network. Establishing connectivity in these areas will benefit the local residents as well as the army.

Aim to reach network to remote areas

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has said that the government aims to provide telecom services to all remote areas of the country by June 2025. This initiative of Airtel is being considered an important step in this direction.
