Airtel’s Unlimited 5G exposed? Hotspot will not work, questions raised even on 300GB limit
Airtel 5G Hotspot: If you are also using Airtel’s Unlimited 5G plan and think that you will be able to use internet on laptop, tablet or other phone without any hesitation through mobile hotspot, then now it is difficult to do so. Let us tell you that recently after some conditions of Airtel’s 5G plan went viral on social media, a new debate has erupted regarding the company’s Unlimited 5G claim. It has been seen that many users have shared screenshots of Airtel’s official Terms & Conditions.
It has been claimed that sharing unlimited 5G data with other devices through mobile hotspot is not allowed. Apart from this, some users have also raised the issue of 300GB data limit, which is raising questions on the word Unlimited.
5G data will not work from hotspot to other devices
According to the screenshots going viral on social media, Airtel’s unlimited 5G data can be used only on smartphones in which this plan is active. This simply means that if you want to use internet on laptop, smart TV or any other phone by turning on mobile hotspot, then this facility will not be available. After this revelation, many users say that such conditions should be clearly stated while promoting the plan so that customers do not have to face problems later.
We already saw reports that Airtel doesn’t allow Unlimited 5G data sharing via mobile hotspot.
Now, it is officially mentioned on Airtel’s website that mobile hotspot is not allowed on its Unlimited 5G mobile data plan.

Questions also raised on 300GB data limit
Some users claim that some prepaid plans of Airtel promise unlimited 4G and 5G data but the data usage limit is limited to 300GB within 30 days. If a customer uses more data than this then it can be considered as commercial use. This is the reason why many people have raised the question that when the data is being said to be unlimited then why the usage limit has been fixed.
If you claim Unlimited 5G from Airtel, you’re apparently NOT allowed to use that unlimited data via mobile hotspot! 😳
So… unlimited, but only on the phone? 🤷♂️
How many of you actually knew about this clause”

Comparison with Jio, users expressed displeasure
After these conditions came to light, many users on social media expressed their displeasure. Especially those people who depend on mobile hotspot due to lack of SIM slot in their laptop. This rule is being described as inconvenient. While many users compared Airtel with Jio, they said that Jio’s 5G plan currently does not mention conditions like hotspot usage or data limit. This is the reason why some people are considering Jio’s Unlimited 5G offer more beneficial. But before recharging any telecom plan, it is important to read its Terms & Conditions carefully. This will make it easier for you to understand what terms and conditions apply with the Unlimited offer.
