Ranchi: Soldier Ajay Lakra died during an anti-terrorism operation in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Ajay Lakra was a resident of Labed village located in Dhurwa. It is being told that he was martyred after falling into the ditch. This incident is a big shock for his family.

Ajay Lakra’s father, late Lohra Oraon, died many years ago. Ajay was very young at that time. After the death of his father, his mother Poklo Devi took the entire responsibility of the family. He raised his children under extremely difficult circumstances. Ajay Lakda has a younger brother, Arun Lakda, and four sisters. The mother educated and raised the children by selling bones and doing labour. Ajay Lakra had a dream of joining the army since childhood. He always kept himself physically prepared and participated in strenuous activities like running. Due to this passion, Ajay joined the Army seven years ago. His brother is also posted in CISF and his youngest sister Anju Lakra is posted in Jharkhand Police. Ajay’s three sisters are married.

His friends and colleagues also said that Ajay was always a courageous and responsible young man. There is an atmosphere of mourning in Ajay Lakra’s family as soon as the news of his death is received.
