Ajit Pawar gave tickets to leaders with criminal records

Discord has come to light regarding the selection of candidates in the Mahayuti alliance in the Pune Municipal Corporation elections. BJP leader Muralidhar Mohol accused Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s NCP of giving tickets to persons with criminal background. Mohol said that on one hand Ajit Pawar talks about ending crime, while on the other hand his party is giving place to such candidates.

There is open discord between the ruling Mahayuti alliance regarding the selection of candidates in the Pune Municipal Corporation elections. On one hand, Ajit Pawar is the Deputy CM in the state government with BJP, while on the other hand he is contesting against BJP in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Civil Aviation and prominent BJP leader from Pune, Muralidhar Mohol was asked why his party had also given ticket to the wife of a person with an alleged criminal background. In response to this, BJP leader Muralidhar Mohol directly attacked NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) and surrounded Pune’s guardian minister Ajit Pawar.

Which criteria does it fit into?

Muralidhar Mohol said that Pune Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar says that crime should end in this city and Koyta gang should be eliminated. But on the other hand, if you look at the list of candidates given by them from East Pune to South and from there to North Pune, it clearly shows what kind of people they have given place to. We don’t know which criteria it fits into.

Let us tell you that Mahayuti (BJP-Shiv Sena Shinde faction-NCP Ajit faction) is fighting together in the elections to be held in 162 wards of Pune Municipal Corporation. Parties have also declared their candidates. Many candidates have been attacked by opposition parties over their criminal or controversial backgrounds.

It may be noted that Ajit Pawar’s NCP is in alliance with Sharad Pawar’s NCP in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation elections. However, in other elections, Ajit Pawar’s NCP is part of the Mahayuti alliance with the BJP and Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena.
